WIP: Slouchy Hats

This week I’m working on slouchy hats for a show I have a booth for next month in Denver.  Hats aren’t something I normally do, but the first one I made was a special request by a friend of mine and as soon as I posted a picture of it for her approval, a mutual friend of ours immediately demanded one as well.  Okay, well maybe she asked nicely.  *smile*  But it seems to be a popular item, so I thought I’d see how they’d do at the show, which is a knit out and crochet event sponsored by Cassandra Allen-Brown of Bags by CAB – Yarn Shoppe and the Denver Crochet Guild.  You can find more information about the event on my facebook page or her event page.

The pattern for the hats is based on Dot Matthews’ Bobble Beauty, which can be found here.  The yarn I’m using is Lion Brand’s Superwash Merino Cashmere, which is positively yummy, and results in what I’d call a size small, so I’m also working out adjustments for a M/L version – and trying to squeeze one of each out of three skeins of yarn.  Wish me luck!
